Denmark's boys basketball team opened Region 7-4A play with a 61-47 win Tuesday night against Chestatee.
The Danes (6-1, 1-0 Region 7-4A) have won three in a row and will host Blessed Trinity at 7:30 p.m. Thursday in a rematch of last year's region tournament semifinal, which Denmark won 46-43.
Pinecrest 63, King's Ridge 49
Pinecrest won its third game in a row Tuesday, topping King's Ridge 63-49 in Region 6-1A Private action.
Senior Caleb Bohn led the Paladins with 14 points, while sophomore Tony Carpio added 11 points, sophomore JJ Hayes chipped in nine points, and seniors Hank Lynch, Josh Boeye and sophomore Oscar Lynch each had eight points.
The Paladins (4-2, 1-0 Region 6-1A Private) will host Mount Paran at 7:30 p.m. Friday.
Woodstock 69, Lambert 63
Lambert dropped a non-region game to Woodstock on Tuesday, 69-63, as Wolverines senior Rakim Thompson turned in a game-high 26 points against the Longhorns.
The Longhorns (5-3) will look to rebound from back-to-back losses at 7:30 p.m. Friday when they travel to Roswell.
North Gwinnett 59, South Forsyth 51
North Gwinnett knocked off South Forsyth on Tuesday, handing the War Eagles just their second loss since Nov. 12.
South (5-3) will host Woodstock at 7:30 p.m. Friday.
GIRLS BASKETBALL
South Forsyth 53, North Gwinnett 31
South Forsyth improved its winning streak to five games Tuesday, beating North Gwinnett 53-31.
The War Eagles (8-1) will return home on Friday for a 6 p.m. tip against Woodstock.
