North Forsyth 14, Centennial 0

ROSWELL – Ashley Barton had two triples as the Lady Raiders cruised to a Region 6-AAAAAA victory Tuesday night on the road.

North improved to 9-15 overall and 8-9 in the region with one game left to play against Lambert on Thursday.

South Forsyth 8, Alpharetta 0

Seniors Stephanie Harris and Sara Nelms each drove in a run on Senior Night as the Lady War Eagles cruised to a Region 6-AAAAAA victory Tuesday at home.

Katherine Huey got the win for South (19-5-1, 15-2) tossing three scoreless innings and striking out five. Kara Bilodeau came on in relief and struck out six in two innings.

Emily Harris went 2-for-2 with a double and RBI, Bianca Mora was 1-for-2 with two RBI and Sofia Tapia went 2-for-2 with two runs scored and an RBI.

West Forsyth 8, Habersham Central 0

Alana Frye went 2-for-4 with two RBI and the Lady Wolverines earned a Region 6-AAAAAA victory Tuesday at home.

Kelly Carpenter got the win for West (16-11, 11-6) in her third complete game shutout of the season. Carpenter also went 2-for-3 at the plate.

Tatum Nicewinder had a double, sacrifice fly and two RBI, Peyton Erb was 2-for-3 with an RBI and Caitlin Parks went 2-for-4 with two runs scored and an RBI.


Forsyth Central stays alive in area tournament

MILTON – Sarah Whittington had 15 kills as the Lady Bulldogs advanced in the Area 7-AAAAA tournament with a win against Cass (25-15, 25-3), loss to River Ridge (25-12, 25-18) and win against Woodland-Cartersville (23-25, 25-21, 25-17).

Central (19-10) advanced in area tournament play for the first time since 2009 and will play North Atlanta on Thursday at River Ridge.

Emma Gore had 13 kills, 19 digs and 12 aces, Amber Waddell had 23 digs and Liepa Vaicekaviciute added nine aces.

North Forsyth stays alive in area tournament

ALPHARETTA – The Lady Raiders kept their season alive after losing to Alpharetta (25-20, 21-25, 25-20) with a victory against Lambert (25-19, 25-13) on Tuesday in the Area 6-AAAAAA tournament.

North (21-16) will play Chattahoochee on Wednesday at 5 p.m.

South Forsyth advances

ALPHARETTA – Taylor Svehla had a team-high 11 kills as the Lady War Eagles defeated Chattahoochee (25-11, 25-21) in the Area 6-AAAAAA tournament Tuesday.

South (32-17) advances to play Northview on Wednesday at 5 p.m.

Amanda Nugent added 10 kills for the Lady War Eagles. Erin Yeatman had 21 digs and four aces, Savian Jordan had nine digs and two assists, while Hannah Larson had 12 assists and Avery Tutt had 10 assists.

West Forsyth advances

ALPHARETTA – Chloe Lance had 13 kills to help the Lady Wolverines defeated Lambert (25-19, 25-16) in the Area 6-AAAAAA tournament Tuesday.

West (36-7) advances to play Johns Creek on Wednesday at 5 p.m.

Taylor Ashcraft had 10 digs, five kills and three aces for the Lady Wolverines, Jordan Leitch had 21 assists, while Caroline Frye and Gabby Bachner had three and two kills, respectively.
