The Longhorns earned their first win of the season on Tuesday, overtaking the Hoyas in the fifth inning and hanging on for the win.
Parker Brosius put Lambert in the lead in the first inning, scoring from third on a wild pitch after reaching on a walk to open the half inning. Harrison tied the game in the top of the second, but in the fifth, Will Hensley put the Longhorns back on top with an RBI single to left center, scoring Ethan Gray on the play.
Hensley, Brentan Newberry and Braden Bamburowski came up with a hit apiece for Lambert. Bamburowski also came away with the win on the mound, striking out three and allowing a run and a hit over four frames.
