Lambert 6, Northview 5

Back from an ankle injury, Marissa Guimbarda displayed just how she means the Lady Longhorns.

The junior went 2-for-2 with a double and three RBIs, including the game-winning hit in the bottom of the seventh inning, to help Lambert earn a Region 6-AAAAAA victory Thursday at home.

Guimbarda also got the win on the mound for the Lady Longhorns (6-4, 5-2), allowing 12 hits and five runs (none earned) over seven innings.

Zoe Miller went 3-for-4 with two doubles for Lambert, Maddie Butz went 2-for-4 with a double and Kassidy Krupit went 1-for-3 with a home run and two RBI.

North Forsyth 10, Centennial 0

ROSWELL – Madelyn Oliver went 2-for-4 with two RBI and the Lady Raiders cruised to a Region 6-AAAAAA victory in five innings Thursday on the road.

Autumn Musgrave went 2-for-3 with an RBI for North (11-5, 5-3), while Haley Simpson was 1-for-2 with a triple and two RBI.

South Forsyth 11, Alpharetta 2

The Lady War Eagles cruised to a Region 6-AAAAAA victory Thursday at home to remain unbeaten in region play.

Katherine Huey for the win for South (10-2, 8-0), allowing two runs (both unearned) over five innings while striking out eight.

Jordyn Harris led the Lady War Eagles at the plate, driving in three runs. Jordin Englas and Huey each had two RBI, while Bianca Mora, Sofia Tapia and Kayla Mayoros each drove in a run.

West Forsyth 9, Habersham Central 1

Hannah Guthrie got the win on the mound and the Lady Wolverines got a Region 6-AAAAAA victory Thursday at home.

Kelly Carpenter led West (10-3, 7-1) at the plate, going 1-for-3 with two RBI.

Hayla Seitz went 1-for-2 with two walks and two runs scored, Alana Frye went 1-for-2 with a double and a RBI and Kelly Palacios drove in a run.

Gracie Martin, Ashley Silvers and Mikki Adams each had a hit.

VOLLEYBALL

Forsyth Central splits tri-match

ALPHARETTA – Emma Gore had 13 kills and Julia Jasion had 12 as the Lady Bulldogs defeated Roswell (26-24, 25-23) and Alpharetta (8-25, 14-25) in non-area matches Thursday on the road.

Amber Walsh led Central (6-7, 1-2 Area 7-AAAAA, Div. B) with 28 digs, while Morgan Liffers had 24 assists.

Lambert sweeps tri-match

Ashley Cruise had 21 kills and the Lady Longhorns earned wins against Brookwood (25-12, 25-14) and Chamblee (25-8, 29-27) in non-area matches Thursday at home.

Jordyn Moellering led Lambert (11-3, 1-1 Area 6-AAAAAA) with 16 digs on the night.

Against Brookwood, Kendal Barrett had 22 assists while Sissy Allen added five aces.

Madelein Bertz added six kills against Alpharetta.

North Forsyth splits tri-match

Maddie Bryant had 20 kills as the Lady Raiders defeated Creekview (25-18, 15-25, 25-23) and lost to Centennial (20-25, 25-21, 24-26) in an Area 6-AAAAAA match Thursday at home.

Kaley Salazar had 39 digs for North (11-7, 1-2).

Pinecrest Academy sweeps tri-match

Tessa Stubbs had 11 kills and two blocks as the Lady Paladins got wins against Eastside (25-13, 25-10) and North Springs (25-18, 25-17) in non-area matches Thursday at home.

Vanessa Fowler led Pinecrest (10-8) with 30 assists. Josie Sorohan led the team with 12 digs. Adeline Seiferth had 10 kills and eight digs, while Caroline Clark added seven kills to go along with three blocks.

Other contributors for Pinecrest were Steffi Harrison (two aces, three digs), Annie Reilly (seven kills, five aces) and Annie Irlbeck (one kill, three blocks).

West Forsyth swept in tri-match

NORCROSS – Chloe Lance had 22 kills but the Lady Wolverines lost to Norcross (23-25, 19-25) and Woodstock (24-26, 28-26, 22-25) in non-area matches Thursday on the road.

Jordan Leitch had 39 assists and 11 digs for West (15-7, 2-1 Area 6-AAAAAA), which lost standout senior Taylor Ashcraft after the first match because of sickness.

Danielle Menningman (20 digs), Abbey Riggins (19) and Emma Bernardez (15) led the Lady Wolverines’ defense, while Hannah Owens (six kills), Jaz Berry (five) and Caroline Frye (five) contributed on offense.
