North Atlanta 4, Forsyth Central 3

ATLANTA – Hunter Joyner went 1-for-3 with two RBI but it wasn’t enough as the Bulldogs lost a Region 7-AAAAA, Div. B game Wednesday on the road.

Logan Howard pitched six strong innings for Central (10-5, 9-2), which saw its eight-game region winning streak snapped. Howard allowed three earned runs and struck out five.

Cambridge 15, North Springs 0

MILTON – Austin Weiermiller went 3-for-3 with three RBI and the Bears cruised to a Region 7-AAAAA, Div. B victory Wednesday at home.

Cambridge (5-8, 5-7) also got strong performances from Hayden Onorato (3B, three RBI) and Sam Wilson (2-for-3, two 2B, three RBI).

Fellowship Christian 11, St. Francis 1

ROSWELL – Matthew Fezza went 2-for-2 with a home run but it wasn’t enough as the Knights fell in a Region 6-A game Wednesday on the road.

Jules LaCoste went 1-for-2 with a walk for St. Francis.

South Forsyth 5, Alpharetta 0

Anthony Trovato pitched a complete game shutout and the War Eagles got a Region 6-AAAAAA victory Wednesday at home.

Trovato got the win for South (9-8, 6-5) allowing just four hits over seven innings while striking out five.

Justin Graczyk led the War Eagles at the plate going 2-for-3 with an RBI. Max Schmal also had two hits.

West Forsyth 5, Chattahoochee 4

Hampton McConnell hit a walk-off single to lift the Wolverines to a Region 6-AAAAAA victory Wednesday at home.

Addison Albright got the win for West (9-6, 8-2) pitching a scoreless inning of relief in the top of the seventh. Connor Hawkins came in to pitch a scoreless sixth in relief of Hank Flood, who went five innings on the mound and also added an RBI at the plate.

Other strong performers for West were Chris Cullen (two hits, RBI), Nate Schmitz (one hit, two runs) and Alec Wilson (two hits, RBI).


West Forsyth 19, Johns Creek 13

Sarah Grady had six goals and the Wolverines got a key Area 3-AAAAAA victory Wednesday at home.

West improved to 8-4 overall and 4-2 in the area.


Cambridge 0 (4), Forsyth Central 0 (2)

MILTON – The Lady Bulldogs lost 4-2 on penalty kicks to drop a Region 7-AAAAA, Div. B game Wednesday on the road.

The teams played to a 0-0 after regulation and two overtimes. Kali Matthews and Kara Slaughter converted their penalty kicks for Central (4-8, 3-3).
