The South Forsyth boys basketball team beat Northview 67-49 on Saturday, with Devin McGlockton contributing another double-double for the War Eagles, scoring 22 points and pulling down 12 rebounds. Kohl Harris had 17 points on five three-pointers for the War Eagles, who improved their record to 5-4.
The Pinecrest boys improved to 5-1 on Saturday with a 52-25 win over Paideia, with Josh Boeye leading the Paladins with 12 points and Hank Lynch scoring 11.
The Lambert boys team (6-1) took its first loss of the season on Saturday, falling 88-63 to Newton at the University of North Georgia. Braxton Beaty had 20 points for the Longhorns, while Mitch Ganote had 16 points, eight rebounds and seven assists. West Forsyth (0-5) lost 62-57 at home against Chattahoochee.
The North Forsyth girls basketball (3-2) team broke a two-game losing streak on Saturday at the University of North Georgia, beating Rabun County 66-44. Lily Bales led the Raiders with 18 points, and Ansley Allen had 16 points with nine rebounds.
The West Forsyth girls continued their strong start to the season on Saturday, beating Chattahoochee 57-15 to improve to 4-1. Cayla Cowart and Kassidy Kimbro both had 12 points to lead the Wolverines.
The Pinecrest girls team fell to 0-6 on Saturday with a 62-43 loss to Paideia.
The North Forsyth wrestling team split its four matches at the Walton Duals on Saturday, beating Wheeler 59-24, losing to Brookwood 48-21, losing to Dunwoody 51-28 and beating George Walton Academy 46-29.
Forsyth Central won three of its five matches on Saturday at the Mountain View Duals, beating the Thomas County Central, Sarasota Military Academy and the Mountain View No. 2 squad and falling to Mountain View and Vestavia Hills (Ala.).
South Forsyth placed four wrestlers at the Southern Slam Invitational in South Carolina over the weekend. A.J. Riner finished four at 126 lbs., Holden Parker finished eighth at 138, Luis Gonzalez finished fifth at 220, and Trevor Patrick finished fifth at 285. The War Eagles finished 15th overall in team score, with 79.5 points.
Pinecrest Academy, competing at the Wolverine Classic at Woodstock, put three wrestlers into the championship rounds on Saturday, with Mark Metz placing 5th at 113 lbs. and Joe Metz finishing first at 152.
