PREP ROUNDUP: North Forsyth girls set school record for points scored

North Forsyth's girls basketball team set a school record for points scored Tuesday with a 102-10 win against Northview. Senior Breanna Helms led all scorers with 17 points, while fellow seniors Caroline Martin finished with 14 points and Avery McAllister chipped in 10 points.

The Raiders (2-1) are back in action at 7 p.m. Saturday against Morrow in the Raider Classic. 

Pinecrest 21, Denmark 10

Pinecrest picked up its first win of the season Tuesday, beating Denmark 21-20.

The Paladins (1-2) will host Tallulah Falls at 6 p.m. Friday, while the Danes (1-3) will travel to Chestatee at 6 p.m. Dec. 3.

South Forsyth 56, Walton 43

South Forsyth continued its hot start to the season Tuesday, picking up a 56-43 win against Walton. Senior Ashley Breindl led all scorers with 20 points.

The War Eagles (3-0) will host North Paulding at 6:30 p.m. Friday. 

Duluth 57, Forsyth Central 46

A 15-point third quarter doomed Forsyth Central on Tuesday, as the Bulldogs were dealt their first loss of the season by Duluth, 57-46.

Central (3-1) will host Lakeside-DeKalb at 4 p.m. Saturday. 

Hillgrove 66, Lambert 19

Lambert suffered its second loss of the season Tuesday in a 66-19 loss to Hillgrove.

The Longhorns (0-2) will get another chance to pick up their first win at 6 p.m. Friday against Lakesdie-DeKalb in the Bulldog Classic at Forsyth Central. 

BOYS BASKETBALL

North Forsyth 77, Northview 73 (3OT)

North Forsyth prevailed in triple overtime Tuesday, 77-73. Senior Justin Costello led all scorers with 32 points against Northview. The Raiders finished with four players in double digits, with sophomore Aidan Kudlas logging 15 points, senior Corey Meitz netting 13 points and senior Canon Jackson finishing with 11 points. 

The Raiders (3-0) will play in the first round of the Raider Classic on Saturday, facing Morrow at 7 p.m.

South Forsyth 65, Walton 45

South Forsyth sophomore Ethan Underwood had 20 points, junior Wes Kane chipped in 18 points and five rebounds, and the War Eagles overcame Walton on Tuesday, 65-45. Junior Kohl Harris added eight points, six rebounds and three assists. Junior Devin McGlockton led the team with eight boards, adding six points, five assists and two blocks. Senior Thomas Stocks finished with seven points, three rebounds and three assists.

The War Eagles (2-1) are back in action at 7:30 p.m. Saturday at White County. 

Forsyth Central 65, Duluth 51

Forsyth Central bounced back Tuesday with a 65-51 win against Duluth to pick up its third win of the season.

The Bulldogs (3-1) will face Martin Luther King High School at 2:30 p.m. Monday in the Thanksgiving Showcase at Gainesville High School. 

Lambert 64, Hillgrove 59

Lambert remained undefeated Tuesday, topping Hillgrove 64-59. Senior Braxton Beaty led the Longhorns with 18 points, adding nine rebounds and four assists. Senior Luke Champion also finished in double figures, scoring 10 points, including three 3-pointers. Senior Colin Granger had nine points, eight rebounds and three assists, while senior Will Baker had eight points and three assists, including two 3-pointers. 

The Longhorns (3-0) will face Woodward Academy at 5:50 p.m. Saturday in the Jared Cook Classic at North Gwinnett High School.
