PREP ROUNDUP: North Forsyth's Finnemore toss no-hitter in region win

J.B. Finnemore was unhittable.

The Raiders’ senior right hander tossed a complete-game no-hitter Wednesday in North’s 8-0 victory against Centennial in a Region 6-AAAAAA game.

Finnemore struck out eight and walked five over seven innings for the Raiders’ second no-hitter in as many years and eighth in program history.

And Finnemore got plenty of support at the plate, as North (7-4, 3-2) pounded out 12 hits, led by Cory Campbell who was 3-for-4. Parker Enright had two hits and two RBI, while Jon Aiken added two-run home run.

Lambert 10, Alpharetta 0

Zach Graveno struck out 11 in six shutout innings as the Longhorns cruised to a Region 6-AAAAAA victory Wednesday at home.

Graveno allowed just two hits in the win for Lambert (8-3, 5-0).

Kyle McCann led the Longhorns at the plate with three hits and two RBI. Michael Raiano and Will Gabbert each had two RBI, and Jake Tomelevage added two hits.

Northview 5, South Forsyth 4

JOHNS CREEK – The War Eagles suffered a walk-off loss in a Region 6-AAAAAA game Wednesday on the road.

Brett Graczyk and Connor McKnight each had two hits for South (8-3, 3-2).

West Forsyth 7, Habersham Central 3

Mason McWhorter had two hits and two RBI as the Wolverines earned a Region 6-AAAAAA victory Wednesday at home.

Jay Thompson got the win on the mound for West (7-3, 5-0). Hank Flood added two hits.

BOYS LACROSSE

North Forsyth 12, Mountain View 11

Chase Chapman, Sam Grogan and Tucker Brady had three goals apiece as the Raiders got a non-area victory Wednesday at home.

North (5-5, 0-4 3-AAAAAA) also got goals from Mason Jolley, Colton Rudd and Shaun Herock. Henry Eglian and Evan Smith had an assist each, while goalie Jacob Day made 15 saves.
