North Forsyth 8, Harris County 7
Ashleigh Grace won the game Saturday for North Forsyth, bringing home Lauren Fields with a walk-off single to lead the Raiders past Harris County 8-7. Mallorie Black and Hailey Mize were perfect at the plate, as Black went 3 for 3 with three runs scored and four RBIs and Mize drove in three and scored twice while finishing 2 for 2. Grace and Fields had two hits apiece. Mize pitched 2 1/3 innings, giving up four earned runs on seven hits, but Kyleigh Sanders took the win after blanking Harris County over 2 2/3 innings and striking out four.
North Forsyth 6, Brookwood 4
North Forsyth pounded 12 hits Saturday as eight of the Raiders' starting nine finished with at least one hit in a 6-4 win against Brookwood. Mallorie Black, Katie Sarfaty, Maggie McBrayer and Lauren Fields finished with two hits. Sarah Lowe picked up the win for the Raiders, tossing 2 2/3 innings of two-run ball despite not giving up a hit. Lowe walked seven and struck out three. North (21-2, 7-1 Region 5-7A) steps out of region play Monday for a game against East Hall.
Collins Hill 6, Forsyth Central 5
Forsyth Central carried a 5-3 lead into the bottom of the seventh inning Saturday, but Collins Hill tagged pitcher Kristi Brower for three runs in the final frame to win 6-5. Bailey McCachren started the game for Central and threw two innings of one-hit ball while striking out four. Brower gave up five runs -- one earned -- on seven hits over 3 2/3 innings. Brower also struck out two and walked one. Emma Ohrstrom went 2 for 3 with a run scored and an RBI to lead Central at the plate. Emily Caron had a hit, and Khylie Dixon went 1 for 2 with two RBIs.
Archer 4, Forsyth Central 3
Forsyth Central scored three runs in the seventh inning Saturday but it wasn't enough, as Archer topped the Bulldogs 4-3. Kristi Brower pitched 4 1/3 innings while taking the loss, giving up four earned runs on five hits, striking out three. Caraline Bryant and Emily Caron finished with one hit apiece. Caron, along with Lauren Wall and Keeley O'Hara also drove in a run for the Bulldogs. Central (10-13, 6-2 Region 5-7A) will host North Forsyth at 7 p.m. Tuesday.
Mill Creek 6, South Forsyth 1
South Forsyth couldn't solve Mill Creek pitcher Lindsay Kline on Saturday, as Kline scattered three hits over seven innings of one-run ball in a 6-1 win. Ashley Chu, Makenna Segal and Katie Jenkins went 1 for 3 for the War Eagles, with Jenkins knocking in Kennedy Ariail with an RBI single in the seventh inning. Hannah Marchman took the loss, giving up six earned runs on 10 hits while pitching a complete game.
Collins Hill 6, South Forsyth 5
A four-run first innings was too much for South Forsyth to handle Saturday, as Collins Hill outlasted the War Eagles 6-5. South pitcher Ellie Balose gave up four earned runs on four hits and could not work out of the first inning. Katie Traynor pitched five innings of relief, giving up just one earned run on eight hits. Balose bounced back at the plate, finishing 2 for 3 with a run scored. Ashley Chu went 2 for 4 with two RBIs and a run scored, while Kennedy Ariail finished 2 for 3 with a run scored. Audrey Hui knocked in two and scored a run and Makenna Segal had a hit and drove in a run. South (10-12, 4-4 Region 5-7A) will continue region play Tuesday with a 5:30 tilt at Milton.
Harris County 6, West Forsyth 5
Abigayle Telesco went 2 for 3 with a solo home run Saturday, but West Forsyth fell to Harris County 6-5. Emily Brown and Riley Ramirez joined Telesco with two-hit days of their own. Jenna Harris finished 1 for 3 with three RBIs, while Grace Mangan went 1 for 2 and scored twice atop the Wolverines' lineup. West (4-15-1, 1-7 Region 5-7A) will host Lassiter on Monday before resuming region play Tuesday with a 7 p.m. home game against Lambert.
