BASEBALL

Forsyth Central 13, North Springs 3

Parker Biederer went 2-for-2 with three runs scored and two RBI as the Bulldogs inched closer to locking in the top seed in Region 7-AAAAA, Div. B on Monday at home.

Parker Morrison got the win for Central (17-4, 14-2), allowing three runs (two earned), on two walks and four hits while striking out six in five innings.

Daniel Henderson was 1-for-1 with a home run, RBI, two runs scored and two walks. Luke Sutko went 2-for-3 with a double and RBI, Hunter Bauman was 2-for-2 with two RBI and Shaffer Meisner, Christopher Bergmoser, Connor Tinkle and Grant Cloud each had an RBI apiece.

Lambert 3, Johns Creek 1

JOHNS CREEK – Cole Varner was dominant on the mound to help the Longhorns earn a big Region 6-AAAAAA victory Monday on the road.

Varner allowed just one run on no walks and three hits while striking out six in seven innings for Lambert (16-5, 12-1).

Will Gabbert had the big hit for the Longhorns, a two-run single in the top of the third that followed an RBI single by Daniel Mickelson.

Parker Scruggs went 2-for-3, while Lambert also got hits from Griffin Jarrett, Michael Raiano, Jake Tomelevage and Jarrett Wright.

North Forsyth 6, Chattahoochee 3

JOHNS CREEK – Big hits from Cory Campbell and Parker Enright helped the Raiders get a Region 6-AAAAAA victory Monday on the road.

Campbell tripled in the fourth inning to score Bailey Gerstner and give North (13-8, 9-4) a 2-1 lead. Enright followed one batter later with a two-run home run.

Tyler Koch earned the win for the Raiders, allowing three runs (one earned) on five walks and three hits while striking out six in five innings.

Gerstner got the save with two innings of relief and finished 2-for-2 at the plate including a triple. Trevor Rhys went 1-for-2 with a triple and two runs scored.

Whitefield Academy 4, Pinecrest Academy 0

Will Patota went 2-for-3 with a double but it wasn’t enough as the Paladins dropped a Region 6-A game Monday at home.

Patrick O’Rourke suffered the loss for Pinecrest (3-14, 3-10), allowing four runs on one walk and 12 hits while striking out three in six innings.

The Paladins got hits from Ben Gobbel, Matt Howell, Corey Downes and Matt Walters but were otherwise stifled by Whitefield starting pitcher Luke Persons, who pitched a complete-game shutout on two walks and six hits while striking out four.

GIRLS LACROSSE

Pinecrest Academy 20, Decatur 19

DECATUR – Molly Dankowski had eight goals and three assists as the Lady Paladins earned a non-area victory Monday on the road.

Alex Tilkin added six goals and an assist for Pinecrest (7-3, 4-2 Area 3-A/AAAAA). Sarah DiFazio had two goals and three assists, Nika Brown scored two goals and Rita Rojas added a goal.
