BASEBALL

Lambert 6, Habersham Central 0

MT. AIRY – Three Longhorns pitchers combined for 13 strikeouts in a Region 6-AAAAAA victory Friday on the road.

Zach Graveno got the win for Lambert (6-3, 3-0), allowing no runs and no walks on three hits while striking out seven. Hunter Furlong and Alex Todd each struck out three in relief appearances.

Josh McAllister, Kyle McCann and Michael Raiano had two hits apiece for the Longhorns.

Johns Creek 4, North Forsyth 2

JOHNS CREEK – Bailey Gerstner struck out four in 5 2/3 innings but it wasn’t enough as the Raiders dropped a Region 6-AAAAAA game Friday on the road.

North (6-3, 2-1) led 2-0 after five innings, but Johns Creek stormed back to score four runs (all unearned) in the bottom of the sixth.

Parker Enright and Trevor Rhys each had an RBI double for the Raiders.

Mt. Zion 8, Pinecrest Academy 7

Will Patota finished a triple shy of the cycle but it wasn’t enough as the Paladins dropped a Region 6-A game Friday on the road.

Patota went 3-for-3 with a single, double and home run to go along with four RBI for Pinecrest.

Ryan McCarthy added a double and three RBI.

Alpharetta 7, South Forsyth 0

ALPHARETTA – Ben Ferrer allowed no earned runs in 4 2/3 innings of relief but it wasn’t enough as the War Eagles dropped a Region 6-AAAAAA game Friday on the road.

Max Schmal got the loss for South (8-2, 2-1) as South allowed six runs in the first inning.

Matt Cunningham had the only hit for the War Eagles.

West Forsyth 11, Centennial 0

ROSWELL – Mason McWhorter went 4-for-5 with a home run and three RBI as the Wolverines cruised to a Region 6-AAAAAA victory Friday on the road.

Bryar Hawkins got the win on the mound for West (5-3, 3-0), allowing no earned run and striking out two.

Thomas Arundale was 3-for-4 with three runs scored, Indiana Stanley went 2-for-3 with two RBI, Hank Flood had two hits and an RBI and Bryce Jones was 2-for-3 with two runs scored and an RBI.

GIRLS LACROSSE

Lambert 18, Peachtree Ridge 2

BUFORD – Peyton Smith had three goals and an assist to lead the Lady Longhorns to a non-area victory Friday on the road in the Gwinnett Invitational.

Jenna Humphries added a hat-trick for Lambert (3-2, 1-1 3-AAAAAA), while Shelby Rumer had two goals and two assists and Morgan Berman made five saves in goal.

BOYS LACROSSE

Chattahoochee 17, North Forsyth 4

JOHNS CREEK – Colton Rudd had two goals but it wasn’t enough as the Raiders dropped an Area 3-AAAAAA game Friday on the road.

Tucker Brady and Chase Chapman each had goals for North (4-4, 0-4). Mason Jolley had two assists, Evan Smith had an assist, Jacob Day made 11 saves and Shaun Herock won 50 percent of faceoffs.

South Forsyth 12, Collins Hill 11

SUWANEE – Kyle Frederiksen, Andrew Lempner and Drew Thomson each had hat-tricks to lead the War Eagles to a non-area victory Friday on the road.

South (3-4, 0-2 3-AAAAAA) also got goals from Brett Crumley, Reed Farnen and Conner Travis.

GIRLS SOCCER

Lambert 1, Alpharetta 0

Maggie Hanusek scored the lone goal for the Lady Longhorns in a Region 6-AAAAAA victory Friday at home.

Brooke Schuyler assisted on the goal for No.3-ranked Lambert (8-1, 2-1).

Pinecrest Academy 7, King’s Ridge 0

ALPHARETTA – Margaret Metz had a hat-trick to lead the Lady Paladins to a Region 6-A victory Friday on the road.

Erin Houlihan added two goals for Pinecrest (4-4, 3-0), while Grace Aufleger and Claire McDonald each added a goal.

Ashley Triplett and Anna Johnson shared the shutout in goal.

South Forsyth 1, Northview 0

JOHNS CREEK – Nikki Bario’s goal gave the Lady War Eagles a Region 6-AAAAAA victory Friday on the road.

Meagan Postell assisted on the goal for No. 4-ranked South (8-1, 3-1), while Courtney O’Malley got the shutout in goal.

West Forsyth 1, Cherokee 0

JEKYLL ISLAND – Brooke Pirkle gave the Lady Wolverines all the scoring they needed in a non-region victory Friday on the road.

No. 8-ranked West improved to 6-3 overall.

Other scores: Johns Creek 3, North Forsyth 0.

Johns Creek 4, North Forsyth 1

JOHNS CREEK – David Landino scored for the Raiders in a Region 6-AAAAAA loss on the road Friday.

Landino scored on a penalty kick for North (1-8, 0-3).

Pinecrest Academy 3, King’s Ridge 2

ALPHARETTA – The Paladins shrugged off an early deficit to earn a Region 6-A victory Friday on the road and their fourth in a row.

Down 1-0 early, Pinecrest (4-4, 3-0) got three straight goals from Kane Alvarez Del Pino, Matt Bernet and Connor Sassine.

Michael Birozes, Lucas Perez and Gabe Villar each had an assist for the Paladins.

South Forsyth 1 (4), Northview 1 (3)

JOHNS CREEK – The War Eagles went six rounds of penalty kicks with the Titans and prevailed for a Region 6-AAAAAA victory Friday on the road.

Trey Tanjuatco scored the lone goal in regulation for South (3-5, 1-3), with an assist by Jordan Pelletier.

War Eagles goal keeper Walker Haymond “was stellar in the net,” according to head coach Tom Braun.

West Forsyth 1, Cherokee 0

JEKYLL ISLAND – Carlos Reyes’ goal gave the Wolverines a non-region victory Friday on the road at the Jekyll Island Tournament of Champions.

West improved to 6-3 overall.
