South Forsyth 7, Milton 5
The War Eagles jumped out to a 7-0 lead on Milton by the end of the fourth inning on Tuesday, and although the Eagles came close to erasing that deficit with two late home runs, South hung on for the win. Makenna Segal and Isabel Hui led South with three RBIs apiece, with Hui finishing her day with a 3-for-3 performance at the plate. Hannah Marchman earned the win, allowing five runs and striking out two. Katie Traynor brought in one run and pitched one inning to earn the save. South improved to 11-12 overall and 5-4 in Region 5-7A play, and will own the No. 3 seed in next week’s region tournament.
West Forsyth 9, Lambert 1
Behind Maria Luce’s six-inning, two-hit performance in the circle, the Wolverines captured their second region win of the year against the Longhorns on Tuesday. West worked to a 7-0 lead in the after the first four innings, and although Lambert scored a run in the fifth on a Colleen Thorson groundout, the Wolverines cruised to the victory. Luce, Grace Mangan and Jenna Harris brought in two runs each for West, which improved to 5-16-1 overall and 2-7 in Region 5-7A play. Lambert dropped to 5-13 overall and 3-6 in region play, and is tied with Milton for the No. 4 seed heading into the two teams’ Thursday tilt.
Marist 8, Denmark 2
Denmark trailed early against Marist on Tuesday, falling behind 4-0 in the top of the first and never being able to come back. The Danes scored a run in the first on a Kayla Smith groundout and another in the sixth on a solo home run from Jessie DeNardo. Denmark fell to 13-6 overall and 5-4 In Region 7-4A with the loss.
North Forsyth 3, Forsyth Central 2
The Raiders took a close 25-20, 23-25, 15-25, 25-19, 15-9 win over the Bulldogs on Tuesday. North improved to 17-12 overall and 1-2 in Area 5-7A play, while Central dropped to 15-14, 0-3.
South Forsyth 3, West Forsyth 1
South took a 25-15, 14-25, 24-26, 15-25 victory against West on Tuesday, South took a 25-15, 14-25, 24-26, 15-25 victory against West on Tuesday. The War Eagles improved to 10-11 overall and 2-1 in Area 5-7A, while the Wolverines fell to 10-22, 1-2.
King’s Ridge 2, Pinecrest Academy 0
The Paladins dropping to 1-11 overall and 1-4 in their area on Tuesday, falling to the Tigers 25-18, 25-20.
