PREP ROUNDUP: South's Kliphouse helps War Eagles edge Central

South Forsyth 2, Forsyth Central 1

Alec Kliphouse had a strong performance on the mound as the War Eagles edged the Bulldogs in a non-region game Monday on the road.

Kliphouse went five innings and allowed five hits and just one earned run while striking out nine. Anthony Trovato pitched two scoreless innings of relief with four strikeouts.

Brett Gracyzk led South (1-0) at the plate, going 1-for-3 with an RBI. Horbin Figueroa and Jordan McGriff each had a hit.

Taylor Bauman led Central (0-1) with three hits and a run scored.

Blessed Trinity 2, West Forsyth 0

ROSWELL – Addison Albright and Derrick Pickvet were solid on the mound but it wasn’t enough as the Wolverines dropped a non-region game Monday on the road.

Neither Albright nor Pickvet allowed an earned run. Albright went four innings, while Pickvet last two, but West’s offense managed just one hit, by Alec Wilson.


Cherokee 19, Forsyth Central 1

Caitlin Howell scored the Lady Bulldogs’ lone goal as Central dropped a non-area game Monday at home.

Central dropped to 0-1 on the season.

Chattahoochee 14, West Forsyth 10

In a rematch of last season’s area title-deciding game, the Lady Wolverines came up short Monday at home.

West dropped to 0-1 on the season.


Creekview 13, Pinecrest Academy 2

Adam Guard scored both goals for the Paladins but it wasn’t enough in a non-area loss Monday at home.

Garrison Winter added 16 saves for Pinecrest (0-1).

Mill Creek 9, West Forsyth 5

The Wolverines dropped their season-opener in a non-area game Monday on the road.

West fell to 0-1 on the season.


North Forsyth 7, North Springs 0

Tiffany Raygor had a hat-trick and the Lady Raiders cruised to a non-region victory Monday at home.

Lochlain Corliss added two goals for North (3-1-0), while Kristina Evans and Annie Prendergrast each scored a goal.
