The War Eagles (3-1) fell behind 3-0 in the first quarter to the Bears on Friday, but scored six of the game's next seven goals and held on late against the Bears to get the win on Saturday.
West Forsyth 11, Alpharetta 10
The Wolverines and the Raiders were neck-and-neck for most of the game on Saturday and headed to overtime tied at 10-10, with Chris Neal scoring the tying goal for West just before the end of regulation. Trenton Smith scored the game-winning goal in overtime for the Wolverines, who moved to 4-0 with the win and face Lambert in their region opener on Saturday.
South Forsyth 3, Providence Christian 0; South Forsyth 11, Mount Paran Christian 5
The War Eagles swept a doubleheader at the LakePoint Complex on Saturday and improved to 4-0 on the season. In the first game, Landon Sims threw five dominant innings in his start for South, allowing no hits while recording 11 strikeouts. Peyton Rawlins came in to throew the last two innings for the War Eagles. South had to come back from a 2-0 deficit in the second game, but runs in four consecutive innings, including five in the fifth, helped the War Eagles to the win. Sims and Dylan Mazzei each had a home run in that game for the War Eagles.
North Cobb Christian 3, Pinecrest Academy 0; Tatnall Square Academy 5, Pinecrest Academy 3
The Paladins dropped a pair of games on Saturday afternoon and fell to 0-3 on the season. The Paladins went hitless in their first game, only managing baserunners on three walks and an error, and while the bats picked up slightly in the second game, it wasn't sufficient to overcome the Trojans.
