PREP ROUNDUP: West Forsyth baseball defeats Cambridge for Pruitt's 200th win

Lambert 6, Hillgrove 5

Jack Fleming’s walk-off single in the bottom of the eighth lifted the Longhorns to a non-region victory Friday at home.

Carter Ballstadt got the win for Lambert (2-2), allowing no runs on one hit while striking out two in two innings of relief.

Fleming, Collin Price and Jonathan Hemings each had multiple hits, while Price, Hemings and Garrett Hollenbeck, who also walked three times, each drove in runs.

Pinecrest Academy 7, North Cobb Christian 6

Will Patota went 3-for-3 with a home run and two RBI as the Paladins earned a non-region victory Friday at home.

Joe Garcia went 2-for-4 with three RBI for Pinecrest (3-2), while Ben Gobbel also had two hits and an RBI.

West Forsyth 4, Cambridge 3

MILTON – Chance Burns hit a go-ahead three-run home run in the sixth inning as the Wolverines earned a non-region victory Friday on the road and gave head coach Mike Pruitt his 200th career win.

Centerfielder Connor Kirley threw out the potential tying run at the plate to secure the win for West (3-3).

Bowen Bock got the win on the mound, while Ryan Ferguson got the save. The Wolverines got hits from Bock, Zach Burns, Ryan Gray and Hunter Martin, while James Spota drove in West’s other run on a sacrifice fly.

Girls lacrosse

Baylor 8, West Forsyth 7

CHATTANOOGA – The Wolverines dropped a non-area game in overtime Friday on the road.

Madison Houlberg, Ella Madson, Cami Merkel and Kelsey Sowa led the scoring for West (2-1).

Girls soccer

Forsyth Central 4, North Hall 0

GAINESVILLE – Callie Fagan had two goals and an assist and the Bulldogs cruised to a non-region victory Friday on the road.

Central (3-2-1, 0-1 Region 5-7A) also got goals from Katie Ruiz and Jenna UIdrich, while Nicki Williams had an assist.

Lambert 1, North Forsyth 0 (OT)

Frankie Fontana scored in overtime to lift the Longhorns a Region 5-7A victory Friday on the road.

Lambert out-shot North by a wide margin, 24-2, but Raiders goalkeeper Savannah Cummings made 15 saves in goal.

Maddy Schulte earned the shutout in goal for the Longhorns (2-1-1, 1-0).

North dropped to 4-1-0 overall and 0-1 in the region.

Boys soccer

Forsyth Central 4, North Hall 0

GAINESVILLE – Gavin Mitchell had a hat-trick as the Bulldogs cruised to a non-region victory Friday on the road.

Alex Guzman had the other goal for Central (3-2-1, 0-1 Region 5-7A), while Jesus Bohorquez and Juan Gonzalez combined for the shutout in goal.

Lambert 5, North Forsyth 0

Hayden Fontana had a hat-trick as the Longhorns cruised to a Region 5-7A victory Friday on the road.

Lambert (2-1-1, 1-0) also got goals from Thomas Powers and Logan Racine.

North dropped to 1-3-1 overall and 0-1 in the region.
