GIRLS BASKETBALL

Lambert 56, Alpharetta 49

ALPHARETTA – Alex Russell had 10 points and 10 rebounds as the Lady Longhorns got a Region 6-AAAAAA victory Friday on the road.

Kara Kidwell led Lambert (10-11, 5-9) with 13 points, while Ashley Johnson had 12 points, seven assists, five rebounds and four steals.

North Forsyth 56, Northview 33

JOHNS CREEK – Caroline Bowns was on fire for the Lady Raiders scoring 29 points in a Region 6-AAAAAA victory Friday on the road.

Morgan Grindle added nine points for North (18-2, 12-2).

But Bowns stole the show. The senior guard and Campbell signee went 9-of-11 from 3-point range to go along with seven rebounds.

South Forsyth 53, Johns Creek 36

JOHNS CREEK – Sarah Myers had 28 points and the Lady War Eagles cruised to a Region 6-AAAAAA victory Friday on the road.

Shelby Threlkeld added 10 points for South (18-2, 13-0), which grabbed an impressive 24 offensive rebounds.

West Forsyth 48, Centennial 32

Jenna Staiti had 22 points and the Lady Wolverines got a Region 6-AAAAAA victory Friday at home.

Jasmine Rodriguez had eight points for West (17-3, 12-2). Abby Quincy added seven points, while Carsen Parker had six.

BOYS BASKETBALL

Alpharetta 72, Lambert 70 (2OT)

ALPHARETTA – The Longhorns dropped the regular season series to the Raiders on Friday in a Region 6-AAAAAA loss on the road.

Looking to pull into a tie for first place in the region, Lambert (17-4, 12-2) instead had its seven-game winning streak come to an end.

Connor Mannion led the Longhorns with 24 points and 10 rebounds.

North Forsyth 58, Northview 45

JOHNS CREEK – Dakota Holtzclaw had 22 points and the Raiders earned a Region 6-AAAAAA victory Friday on the road.

Chad Bureau added 16 points for North (8-13, 5-9), while Coleton Holzer had nine points.

Johns Creek 49, South Forsyth 45 (OT)

JOHNS CREEK – Evan Cole had 13 points but it wasn’t enough as the War Eagles dropped a Region 6-AAAAAA game Friday on the road.

Thomas McClellan and Matt McCorkle each scored 10 points for South (6-14, 5-8).

Ian Joseph led Johns Creek with 14 points, while Mark Lancaster had 13.

West Forsyth 51, Centennial 44

John Peterson and Courtland Fuller made four straight free throws down the stretch to help the Wolverines clinch a big Region 6-AAAAAA victory Friday at home.

Jimmy Staiti led West (10-10, 6-8) with 21 points and 13 rebounds. Peterson had 10 points, while Derek Morris scored eight points.
