GIRLS LACROSSE

West Forsyth 11, Johns Creek 10

The Lady Wolverines got a crucial Area 3-AAAAAA victory Thursday on the road.

Erika Cross led the way for West with five goals.

Monica Martelli had two goals for the Lady Wolverines while Sarah Grady, Channing Milford and McKinley Puckett each scored a goal.

Milford had a team-high four ground balls, and goalkeeper Kara Duclos had 12 saves.

BOYS LACROSSE

Buford 15, Forsyth Central 3

The Bulldogs had their two-game winning streak snapped in an Area 3-AAAAA loss Thursday at home.

Josh Allen, Matthew Johnson and Logan Young each had one goal for Central.

GIRLS TENNIS

West Forsyth 3, South Forsyth 2

The Lady Wolverines edged the Lady War Eagles in a Region 6-AAAAAA match Thursday.

West got a 6-0, 6-0 win from Emma Niemi at No. 1 singles, a 3-6, 6-1, 6-1 win from Caroline Connelly at No. 2 singles and a 6-3, 6-2 win from Haley Anderson and Meg Moran at No. 1 doubles.

St. Francis 3, Pinecrest Academy 2

The Lady Paladins lost a close Region 8-A match Thursday on the road.

Pinecrest lost all three singles matches.

Julieta flores and Catherine Ann Birozes won 6-1, 6-1 at No. 1 doubles, and Mary Patotal and Natalie Parr won 6-4, 7-5 at No.2 doubles.

BOYS TENNIS

Forsyth Central 4, Osborne 1

The Bulldogs won a Region 7-AAAAA match Thursday on the road.

Central got wins from Riley Snow at No. 2 singles, Cameron Hand at No. 3 singles, Mike Fink and Joe Bieler at No. 1 doubles and Tyler Baldwin and Logan Davisson at No. 2 doubles.

Lambert 4, Centennial 1

The Longhorns got a big Region 6-AAAAAA victory Thursday.

Lincoln Metz won 6-2, 6-2 at No. 1 singles, Jack Metzger won 6-1, 6-2 at No. 2 singles and Yotam Stern won 6-0, 6-2 at No. 3 singles.

Shane Cristiano and Alec Smith won 6-2, 2-6, 6-3 at No. 2 doubles.

St. Francis 3, Pinecrest Academy 2

Adam Rocko’s string of 21 consecutive wins came to an end in the Paladins’ Region 8-A loss Thursday on the road.

Rocko lost 6-7, 7-6 (3), 10-8 at No. 1 singles.

Pinecrest got wins from Garett Witt at No. 2 singles, 6-2, 6-2, and Trey Wood at No. 3 singles, 6-1, 7-5.

West Forsyth 4, South Forsyth 1

The Wolverines won a crucial Region 6-AAAAAA match Thursday.

Harrison Wood won at No. 1 singles for West, while Patrick Sklenka won at No. 2 singles, Nico Szabo won at No. 3 singles and Davison Frizzell and Andrew Elvington won at No. 1 doubles.
