Three Forsyth County golfers named All-State

West Forsyth’s Robert Shaw, as well as Lambert’s Brett Barron and Jake Fendt were three of ten boys golfers named to the Class AAAAAA All-State Team, announced Friday.

Shaw, who will attend Georgia Tech with an academic focus in the fall, received the fourth most votes and the most votes for a Forsyth County golfer. Shaw led West to a fourth place finish in the state championships, shooting a 70, and was named All-Region, as well as the county Player of the Year by FCN.

“Personally I’m very excited for Robert Shaw to finish his career with this honor,” West coach Chris Roy said. “Robert has truly put our program on the map in the state of Georgia.”

Barron, a rising senior, and Fendt, who will play collegiately with Kennesaw State, shot 67 and 71, respectively, to lead Lambert’s boys team to its first state title this year.

Lambert’s Brennan Bogdanovic h, who will play at Mercer, was one of five recipients of an honorable mention.

The All-State team includes Charles Huntzinger (Peachtree Ridge), Nick Budd (Etowah), Luke Schniederjans (Harrison), Shaw, Jonathan Keppler (Kennesaw Mountain), Alexander Quinn (Grayson), Barron, Fendt, DeJaun Powell (Westlake) and Peter Chung (Mill Creek).
