Central impress at Bear’s Best
The bulldogs finished third out of eight teams Saturday at Bear’s Best in a two-man team event.
Central’s pair of Max Mobley and Jake Schraff shot a 6-over 102, Christian Payne and Tyler Williams shot 108 and Bryce Garmon and Allen Mills shot 110.
Lambert wins Johnny Paulk
Spencer Ball won low medalist with a 2-under 70 to lead the Longhorns to a first-place finish out of 32 teams at the Johnny Paulk Invitational this past Saturday at Pine Lakes Golf Course in Jekyll Island.
Lambert shot 292 as a team, ahead of West Forsyth (ninth, 315) and South Forsyth (15th, 327). The Longhorns got strong performances from Brett Barron (73), Jordan Baker (73), Mitchell Taylor (76) and Stephen Foernsler (76).
West was led by Austin Jaynes (75), Connor Ferri (79), Ryan Pollman (80), Drew Ridings (81) and Austin Amburgy (85).
South was led by John Lichtenwalner (73), Barrett Hopper (82), Cameron Stokes (85) and Josh Sargent (87).
Lambert wins Brookwood invitational
The Lady Longhorns shot a 13-under par 59 to win a scramble event host by Brookwood at the Summit Chase Country Club.
Lambert finished ahead of runner-up Mill Creek (65) and was led by Tiffany Kang, Lauren Lightfritz, Kayley Marshcke and Kate Owens.
North Forsyth 12, Pinecrest Academy 11 (OT)
Tucker Davis had four goals including the game-winner in overtime as the Raiders earned a non-area game Saturday on the road.
Sam Grogan added three goals for North (x-x), while Colton Rudd had two goals and three assists, Chase Chapman had two goals and two assists, Mason Jolley had one goal and four assists and Evan Smith added an assist.
Shaun Herock won 85 percent of his faceoffs, while Nick Alo had a team-best 13 groundballs.
