Lambert followed with 11 players on the first or second team, while West Forsyth had seven and North Forsyth five.

Arnette, in his sixth year with the program, led the War Eagles to an 11-2 record that included their second region title in school history and a march to the state quarterfinals that included landmark wins over perennial state title contenders Norcross and Tucker.

South quarterback Davis Shanley, a first-year starter as a junior, was named the Offensive Player of the Year. Shanley started all 13 games, throwing for 2,348 yards with a 63-percent completion percentage, 25 touchdowns to 12 interceptions, while rushing for 623 yards and eight scores.

Shanley’s tight end, Cameron Kline, was rather recognized for stellar play on the other side of the ball, receiving the Defensive Player of the Year.
