South Forsyth standout Kyler Kelsey will play soccer at (Div. II) Clayton State University next season.

The goalkeeper said he was impressed with the soccer facilities and felt at home at Clayton State.

"Their soccer team is great and the facilities are nice," Kelsey said. "It’s a good school with great academics. I just want to grow as a player and grow with the team."

Kelsey was a four-year starter for the War Eagles and was selected for the All-County team each of those years. His club team, Concorde Fire Elite, won the national championship in 2011 and he was awarded the National Golden Glove Award. He also was named by U.S. Youth Soccer as one of the top 11 players in the nation.

"I’ve got confidence from playing against older guys when I was younger," he said.

Kelsey is unsure of what he wants to study, but plans to either play soccer professionally or coach soccer.
