South Forsyth alum and Samford University basketball player Sarah Myers was recognized as a first-team All-Southern Conference (SoCon) selection, the league office announced Tuesday.
Myers, a senior who transferred before the season from Maryland, has averaged 13.9 points, seven rebounds and 2.2 assists per game entering the Bulldogs' upcoming appearance in the conference tournament.
Myers was the SoCon Player of the Week last week after scoring a career-high 27 points in a 76-60 win against East Tennessee State, shooting over 61 percent from the floor and grabbing 10 rebounds. Myers had another double-double on in a 64-58 loss to Chattanooga, finishing with 14 points and 11 rebounds.
Samford finished the regular season 15-14, with a 10-4 conference record. The Bulldogs will face Western Carolina in the first round of the SoCon tournament on March 5.
