Former West Forsyth athletes Ben Emert and Tyler Everton will be the first inductees in to the Wolverines’ Athletic Hall of Fame.

Emert and Everton, along with former coaches Byron Orr (softball) and Dennis Stromie (wrestling), will be honored at a banquet open to the public Friday at 5:40 p.m. in the school cafeteria before the football team’s game against Newnan.

Emert played running back at West from 2007-10 and rushed for over 2,500 yards and had over 50 touchdowns. Emert went on to play fullback at Wake Forest for three seasons.

Everton is one of the most decorated wrestlers in county history. A two-time state champion and four-time state placer, Everton finished his career with a 215-20 record, including going undefeated his junior and senior seasons.

In addition, West gymnast Sienna Schreiber and former pole vaulter Koby Cormier will be presented with their individual state championship rings they earned last school year at halftime of the football game.
