Brookwood at Lambert

North at Archer

West at Dacula

When, where: Tonight, 7:30 p.m., at Barron Field in Dacula.

Records, rankings, seedings: West is 7-3, unranked in Class AAAAAA and the No. 3 seed from Region 6; Dacula is 6-4, unranked and the No. 2 seed from Region 8.

Series history: First meeting.

What to know: West isn’t going into the playoffs like it hoped to be – the Wolverines were in position to wrap up second place before losing 33-14 to Lambert at home in the season finale. But West is in nonetheless, and this playoff appearance will be its fourth straight, matching a Forsyth County record set by South Forsyth (2001-04).

The Wolverines again enter the playoffs with a balanced offense with multiple weapons. West averages 398.3 yards and 33.9 points per game behind dual-threat quarterback Hampton McConnell, running backs Trevor O’Brien, Gabe Pierce and Cole Staton and receivers Nathan Schmitz, Kyran Ochocki and Austin McEwen. The defense got a big addition with the return of 2013 FCN Super Senior defensive lineman Brett Anderson, who missed seven games with a fractured ankle. West has won two straight first round games.

Dacula is returning to the playoffs after going 1-9 last season under former North Forsyth coach Jared Zito. Tommy Jones is the coach now, and the Falcons come in after ending the season with three straight wins. There’s not much mystery to Dacula. The Falcons run the ball, then run it some more and spread the carries around between quarterback Aaron Grove (532 rushing yards, 6 TDs) and running backs C.J. Mayes (521 yards, 3 TDs) and Jacque Evangelister (543 yards, TD).

What’s next: The winner will play the Peachtree Ridge-Lassiter winner.
