When, where: Friday, 7:30 p.m., at Northview Stadium in Duluth.
Records, rankings: West is 2-2 overall, 2-1 in Region 6-AAAAAA and unranked in Class AAAAAA; Northview is 3-1, 2-1 and unranked.
Series history: West leads 2-1.
Last meeting: Northview won 28-14 in 2014.
What to know: This game will be a chance for West to get above .500 for the first time in 2014. It will also be an opportunity to win its first road game.
The Wolverines started 0-2 after falling to Mill Creek, ranked in the top-10 in Class AAAAAA, and losing in a heartbreaker at Alpharetta. Then the schedule softened up and West got back on track with a 45-27 win against Chattahoochee and a 54-20 win against Habersham, both at home.
Needless to say, this a prove-it game for the Wolverines, who could still very easily be 3-0 in region—tied with Lambert and South at the top of the standings. For a county that was expected to wait in line against the Fulton schools, a West win against a much improved Northview team will give us, at least for the time being, a three-headed race between Forsyth’s biggest powers.
Expect the Wolverines to be prepared for a big road game—they couldn’t have been more difficult than the two they had to begin the year.
We will be live streaming the game beginning at 7:30 P.M. Click HERE to watch the game tonight.
