Cumming holds second meeting about Comcast
City council wants to hear residents' concerns

CUMMING — Those who were unable to come out the first time the city of Cumming held a discussion about cable TV service will have a second chance this week.

At 7 p.m. Tuesday, the city council will be taking public comments regarding Comcast. As with the first meeting, a representative from the company will be present.

The first session on Comcast was held in November. It drew several speakers who had problems with the company, specifically its customer service, wait times and lack of local office.

The meeting was held during last month’s cold snap, so Mayor H. Ford Gravitt decided on having a second meeting.

“It’ll be the same thing. People can come up and say whatever they want to say, or give whatever information the mayor or council needs to be aware of as far as their personal experience with Comcast,” said Crystal Ledford, public information assistant for the city.

During the last meeting, the mayor said he would rather fix issues with Comcast, but that he wanted that done before signing a new agreement.

“I think they’re going to be looking at people’s feedback as they work with the Georgia Municipal Association and a new franchise agreement,” Ledford said.
