The Forsyth Senior Expo will return to the Central Park Recreation Center on Saturday.

The 10th annual event draws hundreds of county seniors and adults to visit with local businesses and each other.

About 80 vendors will provide information about their services, most of which are targeted for seniors, said Valerie Rhoads, interim senior services director.

Representatives of senior housing, financial agencies and local community groups will be among those at the booths.

Those who attend can also get a variety of free health screenings from health care professionals.

Aside from a wealth of information, visitors can also enjoy door prize raffles, free food and musical entertainment provided by Christian Fine Arts of Forsyth.

"[Feedback] has always been very positive," Rhoads said. "There are usually so many places that they don’t even know exist."

She said attendees learn about the many programs and activities offered through the county’s senior services department during the free event.

Though the expo has the word "senior" in the title, Rhoads said many of those who come are younger people gathering resources for their parents.

In its 10th year, Rhoads said attendance has increased over the years. She expects a crowd of about 600 on Saturday.

Due to limited parking, shuttles will be available to take visitors from the main lot at the park down to the recreation center.
