FORSYTH COUNTY — A local organization that provides leadership training and community awareness is accepting applications for its next group of participants.

Applications for Leadership Forsyth’s adult program must be submitted by April 30. Participants who pass the interview and selection process will receive masters-level leadership training through community-based experience, which will increase their knowledge of local institutions, community members and resources.

“We equip our participants with knowledge of how to be better informed on how to get engaged in the community,” said Tammi Bramblett, executive director of the program.

Leadership Forsyth began in 1989 and boasts more than 600 graduates.

After an overnight orientation in August, participants will meet once a month from September through May.

Class sessions focus on structured morning workshops that promote leadership theory and practice.

In the afternoons, the class tours Forsyth County historic and cultural landmarks and government, education, nonprofit and private business facilities to reinforce the morning’s theme.

“The ideal candidate is someone who wants to engage in the community, know more about where they work or live or both and wants to further the development of their own leadership potential,” Bramblett said.

There is a $25 application fee, and tuition for the program is $1,275.
