Businesses interested in working with Forsyth County government are invited to a vendor symposium.

The event will be held from 8:30 to 11 a.m. Thursday at the Forsyth County Administration Building, 110 E. Main St.

This is the second year the county has offered the event.

Procurement Director Donna Kukarola said last year’s symposium “had a great turnout.”

“Last year was very successful,” she said. “We had other counties and this year it’ll be just Forsyth, but we hope to let many local businesses know how we do things.”

Kukarola said those of all types are encouraged to attend.

“We procure it all,” she said. “Everything from soup to nuts really.”

She said those attending will have an opportunity to meet buyers and contracting officers from the county, learn about upcoming procurement opportunities and take part in roundtable discussions about the process while networking with other vendors.

“We really hope businesses take advantage of it. It’s a great time to meet all our individual procurement officers and gain a lot of insight,” she said.

Registration for the vendor symposium is required.

Businesses interested in attending should visit www.forsythco.com.

To register, click on “Departments,” find “Procurement Department” on the list, and then click on the department’s “Bids, RFPs and Reports” link on the left.
