SOUTH FORSYTH — An engineering and fabrication company focused on the transfer of fluid and gas recently moved to a larger facility and plans to add more staff.

According to information from the Cumming-Forsyth County Chamber of Commerce, S&S Technical LLC has created 20 new full-time positions over the past two years and likely will add another five by the end of 2014.

The facility also recently relocated to a 50,000-square-foot facility at 1900 Grassland Parkway in south Forsyth. The operation, which began in 2006, was previously located in a smaller site on Hwy. 9.

Owner Scott Ogburn said in a statement that the quality work performed by S&S Technical’s staff has been one factor behind the company’s growth.

“The specialization of the equipment and the markets we serve require highly skilled welders, pipefitters, mechanical and electrical engineers and design staff,” he said.

“The company growth comes from not only the expansion of the U.S. oil and gas market, but also by the quality work done by all of our staff.”

The chamber was instrumental in assisting the company with its relocation and expansion.

Randall Toussaint, the chamber’s vice president of economic development, helped the firm select the site, and it then used chamber members for its relocation needs such as real estate and IT services.

“Until going through the process, I did not truly understand what the chamber did,” Ogburn said. “Now our entire organization more fully understands the value of chamber membership.”

The company celebrated its grand opening in the new facility Tuesday.
