SOUTH FORSYTH — It took firefighters close to an hour to free a driver trapped inside an overturned concrete truck at the intersection of McGinnis Ferry Road and McFarland Parkway this afternoon.

The single-vehicle wreck occurred about 2:40 p.m. as the truck was turning from McGinnis Ferry onto McFarland.  The top heavy truck overturned onto the driver's side, trapping the driver, who was alone in the truck, inside.

The driver was conscious and could be heard talking to rescuers as they cut him from the cab of the overturned truck.  He was taken to North Fulton Hospital for treatment.

The cause of the crash is currently under investigation.  The road was closed for nearly two hours as workers first freed the driver, then rolled the truck back onto it's wheels.
