Authorities say that a 23-year-old man from Forsyth County was arrested over the weekend after detectives received a tip that he was allegedly obtaining and distributing child pornography via a social media platform.

Kenneth Franklin Samples was taken into custody by the Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office on Saturday, May 25, and has been charged with distribution of child pornography, computer crime pornography and two counts of sexual exploitation of children, jail records state.

According to sheriff’s office spokeswoman Deputy Jenny Belafi, the charges against Samples stem from two complaints regarding his alleged possession and distribution of sexually graphic material involving a 15-year-old minor from a different state.

Belafi said the sheriff’s office was contacted by a social media platform about Samples’ alleged activity, which led detectives to investigate and secure warrants for his arrest.

As of Thursday morning, Samples was being held in the Forsyth County Jail under a bond of $22,955.
