Cumming police are asking for the public’s help in finding a 15-year-old girl and the man who may have abducted her.
According to a police report, Jocelyn Garcia was last seen Sept. 5 in the parking lot of Ross on Market Place Boulevard.
She was reportedly with 19-year-old Enrique Chavez, who police say also goes by the name Brandon Herrera Flores.
“We think she initially left with him willingly, however, nobody has heard from her in a period of days, so we don’t know if it’s willing or something else,”
said Scott Burgess, interim police chief.
The couple was in a 2002 to 2005 GMC stepside, extended cab, two-door pickup, which is custom painted from light gray to white to dark gray, police said.
The truck also has custom chrome wheels and a temporary or “drive out” tag.
Burgess said Garcia’s parents reported her missing and “are doing everything they can and are very eager to get her back.”
Police have taken out warrants, one of which is for interference with child custody, against Chavez.
Burgess said the Georgia Bureau of Investigation is helping with the case.
Anyone with any information about the teenagers should contact police at (770) 781-2000.
