NORTH FORSYTH -- Forsyth County Fire Department investigators said they have no new leads in the Friday, Aug. 12 fire at North Forsyth High School, according to Division Chief Jason Shivers, the department’s spokesman.

“This is following a standard investigation pace. These things take time,” he said.

The fire occurred during the school’s first period, with firefighters dispatched at 9:04 a.m., said Jeff Hundley, a Forsyth County fire investigator.

Hundley said the fire was intentionally set, but he could not provide any further details while the investigation was ongoing.

North’s blaze came during a weekend that saw two others at Vickery Creek Middle School, both of which originated from the gym and were considered accidental.

Shivers asked for anyone with information to call the fire marshal’s office at (770) 781-2180.
