Authorities say that a man from Atlanta has been arrested in connection with an armed robbery that took place at a south Forsyth sunglass store in January.

According to Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office spokeswoman Jenny Belafi, Makeem Hernandez Youmans, 20, who was arrested in Forsyth County at about 10 a.m. Wednesday, is believed to be one of two individuals that robbed the Sunglass Hut in The Collection at Forsyth, 410 Peachtree Pkwy., in Cumming on Jan. 13.

At the time of the robbery, authorities told the Forsyth County News that at about 5 p.m., two suspects, described as young black males wearing dark clothes, entered the store and began placing designer sunglasses into a bag that they brought with them.

When a store employee approached the suspects, one allegedly produced a handgun and the pair exited the store to a waiting vehicle. No one was harmed during the incident.

The suspect wielding the gun was described as having a short, trimmed beard and as wearing a hoodie with “60 Adderall” emblazoned on its back. His accomplice was allegedly wearing an Under Armour sweater, authorities said.

Belafi said that due to the ongoing investigation, they could not comment on how Youmans was identified as a suspect in the incident, but Forsyth County Jail records indicate that he was taken into custody at the Fulton County Jail.

Youmans has been charged with felony robbery with a gun and is being held under no bond.
