Cumming Police officer completes state training
CPD

A Cumming Police officer was recently recognized for completing a state training program.

Officer Matthew Arnold, of the Cumming Police Department, recently completed the Advanced Roadside Impaired Driving Enforcement course at the Georgia Public Safety Training Center in the city of Forsyth, which is in Monroe County.

In the program, officers are trained to recognize psychophysical and clinical indicators of those under the influence of drugs alone or combined with alcohol.

Officers who attend the course also receive increased training on the “role of traffic enforcement and its relationship to highway safety.”

Funding for the program is provided by the Governor’s Office of Highway Safety.
