How to register to vote
The deadline to register to vote for the Nov. 8 election is Oct. 11. Interested Forsyth County voters who want to register online must:
* Go to www.mvp.sos.ga.gov and click on “Register”
* Choose whether to register or find out if you are already registered
* Click whether to register online with a driver’s license or offline without one
* Fill out the following information:
* Full name
* License number
Forsyth County voters have until Oct. 11 to register for the Nov. 8 general election, and there are several ways to do so.
Those who have no registered can do so online, by mail or in person at the Department of Voter Registrations and Elections at the Forsyth County administration building.
To register in person, residents need to bring a voter registration application to the department’s office on weekdays between 8 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Applications are available at the office, at any of the county’s four public libraries for those with library cards and online.
Registration can also be completed in person when residents receive a driver’s license.
By mail, interested voters also need to fill out an application, which must be sent to: Forsyth County Voter Registrations and Elections, 110 E. Main Street, Suite 200, Cumming, GA 30040 or Secretary of State, State of Georgia, PO Box 105325, Atlanta, GA 30348-9562.
Mailed registrations must be postmarked by Oct. 11.
To register online voters need a valid, state-issued license or identification card and can register a valid driver’s licenses or identification card from the state can register online at www.mvp.sos.ga.gov.
Voters do not need to register for a certain party.
Advance voting for the election will begin on Monday, Oct. 17 and will go through Friday, Oct. 31, including Saturday, Oct. 29 and will be held at five locations.
