If you’re looking for something to do on New Year’s Eve one band wants you to “Listen to the Music.”

The Doobie Brothers tribute band China Grove will be performing two shows New Year’s Eve at the Cumming Playhouse. The first of the two shows will start at 3 p.m. and the second will be held at 8 p.m.

China Grove, whose name is taken from a song on the Doobie Brother’s 1973 album “The Captain and Me,” is based in Tampa, Fla., and promise top-shelf performance.

The shows will feature several styles of music spanning the Doobie Brothers’ five decade career, ranging from jazz to blues to pop including popular songs “Black Water,” “Listen to the Music” and of course “China Grove.”

The four piece features J Todd Plant on guitar and vocals, Hiram Hazley on bass and vocals, Michael Comparetto on drums and vocals, Dave Mueller on guitar and Rick Curran on keys.

The event will be sponsored by Tam’s Backstage.
