A veteran local administrator has been tapped to lead Forsyth County’s newest elementary school.

According to the Forsyth County school system, Ron McAllister will serve as principal of Kelly Mill Elementary, when it opens in August.

McAllister, the current principal at Vickery Creek Elementary, previously served as assistant principal of Liberty Middle School.

He also has worked as an administrative assistant, instructional technology specialist and reading teacher at South Forsyth Middle School.

McAllister earned his bachelor’s degree from Lenior-Rhyne College in North Carolina and has a master’s degree from the University of Georgia.

McAllister, who will finish the current year at Vickery, will be meeting with future Kelly Mill parents and students in the coming months.

Kelly Mill is the first new school for the Forsyth district since 2009, when it opened five.
