Forsyth County Schools has added another option for parents to receive important information.
The ParentPortal communication program is adding text messaging to phone calls and e-mail messages to parents who subscribe.
“We are excited to add a third method of communication to keep our parents informed of student grades, assignments and attendance,” said Jennifer Caracciolo, system spokeswoman.
“Schools and the district will also use this resource to communicate inclement weather and other important information, such as report card distribution and upcoming school events.”
For parents who subscribe to ParentPortal, to add text messaging as a communication option, log in, select “contact preferences,” check “text (sms)” and then select “save.”
