There’s still time to complete a survey aimed at improving local public education.

The Forsyth County school system’s Climate Survey, which includes students, teachers and parents, began in October.

The survey, held every three years in the fall, gathers information that is shared with stakeholders the following spring semester.

“The climate surveys are a crucial component of our district accreditation process, which will occur throughout 2011-12,” said Jennifer Caracciolo, district spokeswoman.

“The board, district and school leadership look closely at the feedback and use it to make decisions as part of our strategic plan.”

Parents and staff have until Nov. 15 to complete the surveys.

The survey for parents, which consists of 48 questions, takes less than 20 minutes to complete. A comment box at the end allows parents to provide additional information.

Submissions are anonymous. Parents who have students enrolled at more than one school must complete a survey for each school.

Students in sixth, eighth and ninth-12th grades will take the survey online at school.
