The Forsyth County school system has announced it will follow an early release schedule Thursday due to the severe inclement weather predicted by the National Weather Service.
In a statement, the district said elementary I schools will release at 11:50 a.m., elementary II schools will release at 12:30 p.m., middle schools will release at 1:30 p.m. and high schools will release at 12:55 p.m.
Staff will also be released at these times.
All extracurricular activities and sporting events, field trips and after-school programs are cancelled for Thursday.
A decision regarding school closing on Friday will be made as early as possible and posted at www.forsyth.k12.ga.us and on the voice mail greeting at (770) 887-2461.
