No injuries were reported Thursday in a blaze that destroyed a mobile home north of Cumming.
Forsyth County Fire Capt. Jason Shivers said most of the home at 3619 Gravitt Road was engulfed in flames when firefighters arrived about 3 p.m.
He said the woman who lives there was outside when she saw smoke coming from the mobile home and called 911.
Shivers said officials were investigating the cause of the blaze but it did not appear to be suspicious.
He also credited a recent effort that is helping firefighters beat temperatures in the 90s and higher, as they were Thursday.
In those conditions, the fire department has worked out an informal agreement with Forsyth County Senior Services.
Through the agreement, when available, senior services provides a bus in which firefighters can cool off and rehabilitate themselves at a fire scene.
Although the fire department’s vehicles have air conditioning, Shivers said the buses provide space in a cool environment for firefighters to remove their heavy equipment and stretch out if needed.
