Forsyth County Schools canceled for Tuesday, officials say

Forsyth County Schools system have announced that all county schools will be closed on Tuesday, Jan. 29, 2019. 

A release states that all students and staff will have an online learning day, but that district-level staff, principals, assistant principals, school custodians and school office staff should report at their normal start times unless weather conditions prevent safe travel. 

The release also states that parents can visit www.forsyth.k12.ga.us/onlineday to learn more about the procedure that has been set up for online learning days.  

Tuesday’s forecast includes rain, below freezing temperatures and snow for North Georgia.

Pinecrest Academy confirmed it is closed Tuesday, as well as all general Forsyth County government offices, including the Animal Shelter, recycling convenience centers, Senior Services, and Forsyth County Parks and Recreation’s indoor and gated facilities.  

In addition, Chief Judge Jeffrey S. Bagley has announced the closure of the Forsyth County Courthouse.

By noon on Monday, a flurry of closings on Tuesday was announced for various government offices and school systems.
