A benefit for Georgia Sheriff's Youth Homes drew more than 100 motorcyclists Sunday.

According to a release from the Forsyth County Sheriff's Office, thousands of dollars were raised as part of the eighth annual Sgt. David P. Land Memorial Ride.

The event is named for a sheriff's deputy who was killed in the line of duty March 26, 2003, when his motorcycle collided with two vehicles on Hwy. 20.

The ride started at Bikers Dream on Atlanta Highway in south Forsyth. The 65-mile route wound through Dawson and Forsyth counties.

Riders rolled dice at six different locations along the way. Prizes were given for the top three scores and the lowest score.
