FORSYTH COUNTY — Forsyth County Senior Services is holding the 13th annual Senior Expo from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. Saturday at the Lanier Technical College Forsyth Conference Center on Ronald Reagan Boulevard.

Julie Gruen, special events team leader, said more than 80 vendors and 1,500 attendees are expected at the free event.

“It’s a way for the vendors to meet with the senior population and share information on products and services that would be of value to them,” she said. “It’s basically everything that would apply to the senior market.

“There’s health insurance, obviously a lot of health care, home care, senior living, legal services, financial services, some real estate, some funeral homes and there’s also government agencies and nonprofit organizations.”

The event is open to friends, family or caretakers of seniors.

“It’s really for everyone that might be in our aging population or have friends or family members that they want to gather information for,” Gruen said.

And winter weather shouldn’t be a factor.

“At this point, we’re still holding it,” Gruen said Thursday afternoon. “As I’ve been looking at the weather it’s going to actually warm up a little bit … This year we’re going to have some heated buses to help shuttle everyone around the parking lot.”
