FORSYTH COUNTY -- A new face will soon be in charge of Forsyth County’s technology needs.
Brandon Kenney was recently hired as the county’s new chief information officer, or CIO, where he will lead the information systems and technology department. He will start work on Monday, Sept. 19.
“We are looking forward to welcoming Brandon to the county staff,” County Manager Doug Derrer said in a news release. “His experience in application development and support, systems integration and project management will certainly be an asset to the county.”
The department handles electronic systems development and operations, telecommunications, technical services and electronic records retention and management.
Since 2009, Kenney has served in as CIO and vice president of information technology for Herschend Family Entertainment Corporation in Norcross.
Kenney was a finalist for the Georgia CIO of the Year Award in 2015 from Georgia CIO Leadership Association and holds a Bachelor of Science degree in operations and systems management from the University of South Alabama and a Master of Business Administration degree from Georgia Tech.
