The Forsyth County community is mourning the loss of a prominent business and civic leader.

Herbert A. "Buddy" Lang, 59, died Tuesday morning at his home off Castleberry Road, said Forsyth County Deputy Coroner Ted Scarborough.

A county native, Lang was owner of Lang Signs, a company his family started in 1929, making it one of the county’s oldest businesses.

Lang was also co-founder of the Bald Ridge Lodge. The organization mentors, houses and supports at-risk boys ages 12 to 17.

Additional details of Lang’s death were not available Tuesday afternoon.
