CUMMING – A man sustained critical injuries Friday afternoon in a two-vehicle wreck on Market Place Boulevard in Cumming.

Two cars collided on the heavily traveled commercial corridor in front of the Taco Mac between Mary Alice Park and Buford Dam roads about 3:45 p.m. July 15, causing a Chevrolet Silverado to T-bone a Mercury Grand Marquis.

The driver of the Grand Marquis, an adult male, was transported to North Fulton Hospital with injuries that were described as possibly life threatening, according to Forsyth County Fire Department Division Chief Jason Shivers.

Both of his passengers were also taken to North Fulton – an adult female who was sitting in the front seat and a young female child who was properly restrained in the back seat.

Shivers said the adult suffered what were described as moderate injuries and was listed in stable condition upon her transport.

The child was also stable and alert, he said.

The driver of the pickup truck appeared to be uninjured. He was the only occupant of the truck.

Market Place Boulevard was reduced to one lane for about an hour.

Georgia State Patrol is investigating the incident.
