New senior services director chosen for Forsyth
ruthie brew

Forsyth County has selected a new head for its Senior Services Department.

Last week, the county announced that Ruthie Brew will take over the position on Monday, Oct. 10. The director oversees programs, services, activities and the county’s three senior centers.

“We are pleased that Ruthie will be joining the county staff,” Deputy County Manager Tim Merritt said in a news release. “The senior center management experience she brings to the position, along with her enthusiasm for assisting others in the pursuit of aging well, will certainly be a benefit to our already outstanding Senior Services offerings.”

Brew has 14 years of relevant professional experience and last served as manager for the Mallinckrodt Active Adult Center in Wilmette, Illinois.

She holds a bachelor’s degree from Southern Methodist University and a Master of Management Degree in Nonprofit Administration from North Park University in Chicago.
